Two of my Notable Global Studies Classes were :

Honor III & IV - where we explored the culturally impact Miami has had on the world and the the impact of the many cultures in Miami on Miami and its development. I enjoyed this class because it was a fantastic experience to learn more indepth about the place I was raised and the importance it has - environmentally, musically, culturally, in terms of reasources, lad, natural beauty.

I found it to be a very interesting course that opened my eyes to the psychological impact many global issues have on the people experiencing them. In addition, I learned many ways through which I could apply my degree ( psychology) in relation to global issues. In addition, I enjoyed Global Psychology - which

I enjoyed all of the activities that I participated in through the Global Medallion process. Particularly were the New York Times Round Tables,  the Jewish Latin Seminar, and volunteering at an organization called Neat Stuff.

During the round tables we discussed, social activism, social activism through social media, feminism, female difficulties in the work place, poverty, as well as many other interesting global issues and hot topics. The enjoyable part of the discussions is that many people attend, and thus, add several different points of views and experiences to the discussion - which allows you to expand your understanding and opinions on the topic - versus just listening to a speaker.

The Jewish Latin Seminar was extremely interesting because of the vast range of topics that it touched upon, and the variety of speaker and interested that were presented. I particularly found interesting - studying Judaism and cultures through cemeteries; what is Jewish food and what does it mean; Cuban Jews and their impact and lives in Miami; Antisemitism; and Yiddish  Theater & Culture; and building a digital library of recorded histories. What was also a great bonus was making connections with all the presenters from different countries, moreover, it just so happened that my Spanish professor from Semester at Sea was presenting and I got to see him !

Moreover, I had a greatly rewarding experience volunteering with Neat Stuff - which "provides free brand new clothing, shoes, accessories, school uniforms, and gifts to meet some of the basic needs of abused, neglected, and other children in distress, allowing them to dress with pride and dignity, inspiring their self worth and hopefully giving them that extra boost to help make their dreams and successes a reality." In doing this activty, I learned about the process of foster children and when they are removed from their homes, how they are given free clothes  of their choosing ( which is received through donations). As a volunteer, I helped catalog inventory and witness all the clothes that child needs, that they may not have and we take for granted.
